All-Region Baseball Team Announced0

Rockland’s Bryan Beniquez was named the 2005 National Junior College Athlete Association Division II “Player-of-the-Year” while Ulster’s Sean O’Toole was named the “Pitcher-of-the-Year.”

Beniquez finished the year with 41 hits with 42 doubles, 16 triples and six home runs. The third baseman recorded 42 RBI while batting .414. O’Toole finished the year with a 1.29 ERA with 47 strikeouts while allowing only 13 walks in 43.2 innings pitched.

Joining them in All-Region First Team are Rob Parisian C – Ulster, Orlando Cruz 1B – Rockland, David Morris 2B – Orange, Ashton Richards SS – Orange, Nick Rosinski OF – Ulster, Alex Cadmus OF – Dutchess, Zachary Potter OF – Dutchess, Jairo Veras DH – Westchester and Rich Martino P – Rockland.

Selected to the All-Region Second Team are Javier Diaz C – Dutchess, Will Seitz 1B – Orange, Wayne Poppe 2B – Rockland, Paul Salerno SS – Orange,  Tom Bordanaro 3B – Dutchess, Kevin Paino OF – Dutchess, Matt Becker OF – Orange, Michael Narcissi OF – Rockland, Steven Cabarcas DH – Orange, Jean Francois Neveu P – Ulster and Damian Crawford P – Dutchess.

Rockland’s Cruz and Beniquez along with Ulster’s O’Toole were nominated for All-American Honors.
