At noon on Tuesday February 24th the United States Bowling Congress Collegiate Division, announced the field for the 2009 Sectional Qualifier. For the sixth time in the last eight years Westchester Community College’s women’s team has received an invitation.
The Sectional Qualifier is the first round of USBC’s National Collegiate Championship. The Lady Vikings have been invited to the Northeast District Qualifier at AMF Parkway lanes in Allentown Pa. Westchester will be in a field that includes Briarcliffe College, Mohawk Valley CC, Penn State Berks, Penn State, Erie CC, Hudson Valley CC, U of Maryland Eastern Shore, Medaille College, Pikeville, SUNY IT and Youngstown State. The tournament will consist of 64 baker games with the top four teams advancing to the USBC finals in April.
Westchester will be lead by NJCAA Region XV MVP Anna Young of Yorktown High School, Grace Veluya of Port Chester High School, Dolores Wirchansky of Saunders High School, Kristin Bohler of Walter Panas High School, Jennifer Berman of Briarcliff High School and Claudia Cardozo of Tuckahoe High School.
