MEN’S BASKETBALL (RECORD 6-0, REGION 0-0, CONFERENCE 0-0),

FRIDAY NOV. 17 (Randolph, NJ) – Sophomore Randy Stephens scored a team-high 21 points, and fellow sophomore Tremaine Fraiser added 19 points as the Westchester Community College won for the fifth straight time, 91-81 over host County College of Morris on Friday evening to open the County College of Morris Tournament. With the win, the Vikings are now off to an incredible 5-0 start to the 2017-18 season.

In a game that featured nearly as many fouls as points, WCC hung on against a scrappy CCM team despite an uneven pace to the game, as both teams spent much of the night at the free throw line. A back and forth opening 20 minutes ended with a huge play by Maxx Miller, as the sophomore stole the ball, and converted a lay-up as time expired in the first half to extend WCC’s lead to 40-34 at halftime,.

Fraiser’s efforts at the free throw line proved to be key, as he went 6 for 6 during a night when Westchester converted only 30 of their 46 free throw attempts.

SATURDAY NOV. 18 (Randolph, NJ) – Behind 24 points from sophomore Tremaine Fraiser, and 19 from Brandon Martin, the Westchester Community College Men’s Basketball team routed Rowan Gloucester County College, 90-67 on Saturday afternoon to capture the County College of Morris Tournament Championship. With the win, the Vikings continue an incredible run, as they improve to 6-0 to start the 2017-18 season.

WCC led wire-to-wire, taking 42-30 lead into halftime, and cruising to their second win in two days to capture the tournament. Gabriel Cruz added 12 points for Westchester.

After the game, Fraiser and Randy Stephens were named to the All-Tournament Team.
