Both the Men’s and Women’s Basketball team suffered defeats at the hands of the Caimans during the doubleheader last night at Hostos Community College.
The Lady Hawks were defeated by the Lady Caimans 56-61 in the first game of the doubleheader. Pearl River graduate Melissa Loughnane paced the Lady Hawks with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
In the second game of the doubleheader, the Caimans handed the Hawks its third straight loss to begin the season 86-60. Curtis graduate Jacin Vera had 24 points while Tommie Starks (Bronx, Tidewater Academy VA) had 16 points. Spring Valley graduate Michael Braithwaite had 14 rebounds.
The Hawks will host the Falcons of SUNY Dutchess tomorrow night at 7 PM for their first home game of the season while the Lady Hawks will travel to Saranac Lake this weekend to participate in the Saints Classic.
