Congratulations to Adrianna Vazquez (SUNY ORANGE) and Elijah Hernandez (SUNY Westchester) for being named Mid Hudson Conference Player of the Week for the week of 1/6-1/12/25
The Orange Colts finished 1-3 after facing off against Middlesex College, Bronx Community College, Raritan Valley Community College and SUNY Niagara.
In the four-game stretch. Vazquez finished with an astonishing 63 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, had 8 assists, 7 steals and 1 block.
– Jan 7th: 15 points, shooting 3/18 from the field and went 8/10 from the free throw line. 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and a block
– Jan 9th: 23 points, 8/17, 3/4 from 3pt range, 4 rebounds and 2 steals
– Jan 11th: 16 points, 6/17, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal
– Jan 12th: 9 points 3/10 shooting, 3 rebounds and 1 assist
Elijah was leading scorer in WCC’s two victories last week. In their 98-79 win versus Lackawanna, Hernandez scored 33 (7-9 from 3) points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. In the team’s 88-63 win, he scored 23 to go with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. He leads WCC in scoring on the season with 23 points per game.
