Rockland CC and Pace University alum Dan Wirchansky was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 25th round (763rd pick) of the 2019 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft.

As a Hawk, the left-handed pitcher was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 Mid-Hudson Conference season and garnered Co-Player of the Year honors for Region XV DII Baseball. Wirchansky led the Hawks with 25 RBIs and 21 walks while batting .372 and tallied 60 strikeouts in his lone season with the Hawks. He was also included in the Top Incoming Freshman in the 2016 National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Baseball Season Preview.

After transferring to Pace University, Wirchansky became one of the best pitchers in the Setters’ program. He tallied a 11-3 record while posting ERAs of 0.71 and 1.38 during his junior and senior season. He also tossed a perfect game in his junior year.  He was named to the Northeast-10 (NE10) All-Conference First-Team and All-Region team in Conference Commission’s Association Division II (D2CCA), National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
