Region XV Women’s Tennis Tournament Moves to Town of Ramapo!

Action at Manny Weldler Park – October 18-19, 2013 

RAMAPO, NY – For the first time in tournament history, the Region XV Women’s Tennis Tournament will be played at the Town of Ramapo Manny Weldler Park in Monsey.  Action will get underway on Friday October 18, 2013 with a 5:00pm seeding meeting, followed by first round play.  The tournament will continue and conclude on Saturday October 19 starting at 9:00am.

Rockland Community College will serve as the host of this year event, with tournament and Region XV officials extremely pleased with the facility. Weldler’s tennis complex features 8 lighted courts, on-site parking, bathrooms and a vending area.  In the past, it has hosted many USTA sanctioned and local high school tournaments.

Under the direction of Lynn Cabot-Puro, Fashion Institute of Technology ran away with the 2012 team championship at Suffolk County Community College.

Once again, this year’s tournament winner will get an automatic invite to the NJCAA Division III Tournament, which, the third straight year, will take place at the prestigious Billie Jean King USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing.  The “Nationals” begin with a banquet on October 22, with play taking placeOctober 23-25.
