Sixth-seed Rockland stunned Sullivan and will head to the semifinal round after defeating the defending champions 90-82 in the opening round of the Region XV DIII Men’s Basketball Championship this afternoon at Suffolk CCC. Rockland will now face seventh-seed Hostos who upset second seed FIT 62-59, in the semifinals tomorrow, March 1 at 4pm. The other semifinal match will pit host top-seed Suffolk-Selden against fifth-seed Nassau.
