Rockland is off to their best start since 1997, defeating the Tigers of Queensborough Community College 4-2 to record their fifth straight win this season.
Freshman Oluremi Williams (Brooklyn, George Winget) open the scoring for the Hawks (5-0) but an own goal by Shamil Adamou (Bronx, Leon M. Goldstein) and a quick goal by Tigers’ Momodou Sawaneh put Queensborough up 2-1 during the early stages of the first half. Sophomore Yves Rosier evened the score at two before halftime. Williams broke the tie with a penalty kick and a late goal by Kimani Shand (Queens, John Adams) secured the win for the Hawks.
The Hawks will host the Vikings of Westchester Community College on Tuesday, September 27. Match time is at 4:00 pm.
