Jay Alvarez, a sophomore guard on the Sullivan Community College Basketball Team has been named the Mid-Hudson Conference Athlete of the Week.
Alvarez averaged 25.5 points and 8 rebounds a game in season opening wins over Raritan Valley (98-75) and Essex CC (80-57).
Alvarez is 6 foot 5 and out of Waynesboro High School in Waynesboro Pa
