Sullivan County Community College Generals defeated the Ocean County Community College Vikings 56-53 to secure third place in the recently concluded 2011 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men’s Division III Basketball National Championship held at Sullivan County Community College in Loch Sheldrake, New York. The Generals were hot during the first half, shooting 45.9% while clamping down on defense, holding the Vikings to a 11 out of 41 shooting ending the half up 36-26. The Vikings outscored the Generals in the second half 27-20 but it was not enough as the Generals hold off the comeback with defense and determination until the last seconds of the game.
