Women’s Basketball: All-Conference announced. Deivejon Harris voted MVP0

Deivejon Harris of Sullivan CCC was voted as the most valuable player of the 2022-2023 Mid-Hudson Conference women’s basketball season. The sophomore center was also selected as the 22-23 Region XV DII Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. Harris top JUCO DII nation with 180 offensive rebounds. She was second in rebounds per game (14.3) and third in total rebounds (372) as of March 8, 2023.

Joining Harris on all-conference and all-region team areĀ  Adriana McFadden (Westchester), Brieanna Maple (Sullivan), Barbara Bruno (Sullivan) and Shanice Wilcox (Westchester).

Women’s Basketball: Sullivan wins Region XV Crown0

SCCC Generals

Top-seed Sullivan defeated second-seed Westchester 65-28 to win the 2023 Region XV DII Women’s Basketball Championship. Brieanna Maple led all scorers with a team-high 14 points and was named Tournament MVP.

Sullivan will face Niagara County Community College in the NJCAA Division II East B District Tournament this weekend. The tournament is being held at Sullivan County Community College.

Brieanna Maple, Sullivan

Brieanna Maple, of Sullivan County Community College has been named the Mid-Hudson Conference Athlete of the Week.

Maple hit 13 three-point shots on the way to averaging 17 points per game during a four-game stretch for the Generals.

Maple is from Brooklyn where she attended Brooklyn Law and Tech High School.
