SUNY Orange is set to host the sixth edition of the Mid-Hudson Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament.
The brackets have been finalized for the sixth edition of the Mid-Hudson Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament. The field of four was set on the women’s side, but the Sullivan-Westchester semi-final was cancelled. However, the second seeded Westcos will play in Saturday’s championship game, and Sullivan will compete in the consolation game. Thus, the women’s tournament gets underway with a semi-final game pitting fourth seeded Rockland against top seeded Orange on Thursday, February 17. Winner will face 2nd-seed Westchester for the Woman’s Championship on Saturday, February 19 at 3:30pm. Westchester took home the 2010 women’s title.

Men’s First Round games were completed on Tuesday with the winners advancing to the semi-final round on Friday February 18. Top seed Sullivan and second seed Westchester received byes. Sullivan won the 2010 men’s tournament. Tournament will be held at Orange County Community College.
During the Men’s First Round, a balanced scoring attack helped Orange avenge an earlier loss to Dutchess. The Colts, who stumbled to Dutchess (67-62) on January 27, never trailed en route to an 82-62 MHC Opening Round victory.
